![]() I had been looking at rangefinders for a while but didn’t want to spend upwards of $400 for a decent rangefinder. Well, one day my wife said she had a coworker that needed a recommendation for a rangefinder for her husband in the $200 or less price range. Now the search was on!!!. I remembered I had seen the TecTecTec VPRO500S Rangefinder online before and it had pretty good reviews and was a decent price, so I researched the TecTecTec VPRO500S Rangefinder for my wife’s friend. I thought the name of this rangefinder was a little strange, but if it performed well what’s in a name right? Although I was looking for some other lucky golfer, my requirements was that is had to be rainproof, measured up to at lest 500 yards +/- 1 yard with a slope option. TecTecTec VPRO500S fit the bill and also had other great options like Pinseeker mode which lets you measure overlapping targets, perfect for measuring the distance to the pin and wooded areas. It also has First Target Priority mode, which displays the distance of the closest subject, helpful when measuring the distance to the golf flag on a green with woods in the background and Scan mode, useful when checking the distance of hazards. I though at this price point this was a no brainer, So I recommended it. A month later, my wife and I were opening our Christmas gifts and guess what???? One of my gifts was the TecTecTec VPRO500S Rangefinder with slope! What a surprise. She later told me her friend wasn’t looking for a range finder for her husband but instead she was looking for a rangefinder for me. This rangefinder is great, it has become my constant companion on the course and on the range. The VPRO500S model is a great deal, all with a sub $200 price range. The TecTecTec model VPRO500 without slope is even cheaper. Let me know about other good rangefinders at good prices.
